Ingredients

  • 300 g Pork Loin
  • 80 g Onion
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 3 piece Egg
  • 30 g Soy Sauce
  • 30 g Honey
  • 15 g Mirin Sweet Sake
  • 15 g Sake
  • 200 ml Water
  • Oil As needed

Instructions

  • To help the pork loin absorb seasoning, begin by poking some holes in it using a fork.
  • Slice the onions, and cut the potatoes into chunks. The eggs should be boiled.
  • In a frying pan with just a little oil, begin sauteing the pork loin. Heat until both sides have cooked and the onions turn clear.
  • Next, add the water, soy sauce, honey, mirin, and sake. Also add the boiled eggs and potatoes. For about 10 minutes, heat the ingredients while coating the meat and eggs in the sauce. You are done.

Notes

I tried making this dish using a thicker cut of pork, typically used for pork cutlets. As the meat is a nice thickness, it softened and soaked up flavor easily. Cooking the meat with onions and potatoes brings out some sweetness as well. This dish goes really well with some rice.
